Mug Rug Kit (10 WISH charms+Free pattern)

This super fast and easy mug rug kit makes two mug rugs with the included 10 charm size squares (5" x 5") and FREE pattern from The Paisley Star. Directions are written, with full color photo for each main step. This is a good small project for anyone who can use their machine, even a beginner. Four of the five charm squares are folded, they overlap forming a woven look top side, with a flat back.  Batting or Insulbright is not included, as most quilters will have 5" x 5" scraps to use. Batting is optional; this project can be made without any batting, as the layers of cotton will insulate and absorb.  Five charm squares are needed per mug rug, so this kit will make two mug rugs.  

Fabric used in the kit is from the 2023 Wisconsin Quilt Shop Hop collection.  Prints in each kit will vary, and choice is ours. 

This is a great project to use up leftover charm squares in various colors and prints from your stash. 

Most bases of wineglasses fit inside the folded layers, so the mug rug can also be used to slip onto each guest's stemware base, and they carry the coaster with them on the bottom of their wine glass, to identify their glass for the evening.  For this purpose, you would want to use a variety of fabrics, to make individual identification easier.
