2023 WISH Quilts- gray

The Paisley Star's original pattern for the 2023 Wisconsin Shop Hop fabric is a 52" x 65" throw quilt that can be made in the red colorway or the gray colorway of the official WISH fabrics.  We have added a few coordinating fabrics to complement the designer prints.  You can choose your method of construction also: choose a traditionally pieced quilt top that you would have quilted on a longarm machine and then bind, OR choose a rag quilt that would be quilted through all the layers as you go, and when the squares are all assembled, you just wash and dry it to rag up the edges, and you have a gorgeous quilt all ready to go!

If you choose the traditional pieced quilt top, you will eventually need batting (60" x 72"), backing (60" x 72"), and binding.   

If you choose the rag quilt method, you will need the batting (1-1/8 yard x 96") and the backing (3-1/2 yards of 44" fabric) BERFORE you can begin your quilt. This is because you sew the three layers (back, batt, top) together before joining the squares together.  Our kit with the batting and backing is offered in the store at a bonus price also. This method saves the expense of paying someone to longarm quilt your quilt, plus the ragged edges are so charmingly reminiscent of those fun chenille bedspreads. Our pattern has an easy little extra step to get the edges to be even more fluffy compared to other rag quilt patterns. It is our own invention, and we think it adds just the right extra touch.
